"Happy is a celebration of the colour green and its varied associations:  mossy ground, evergreen undergrowth, and the conifer canopy. This is the Boreal Forest and Canadian Shield.

During the painting process, I first covered my canvas with green pigment. I then saw the seasons changing before my eyes with each new colour introduced. I want viewers to feel as though they are sitting in the shadows while all times of the year appear simultaneously around them."
