Sabbatical Shorts: Masaccio's Holy Trinity Explained

Sabbatical Shorts is a series of brief blog videos made during my sabbatical from Quest University Canada, where I'm Professor of Art History and Visual Studies.

Each episode annotates one painting from the traditional Western Art History curriculum. This episode focuses on Masaccio's Holy Trinity, a Renaissance Fresco painting. We look at the key figures, use of colour, composition, and use of perspective before asking what it could mean.
